On 24 November 2021 The Open Group Africa hosted a virtual workshop to evaluate the Spanish Higher Education Capability Map currently under review within The Open Group Architecture Forum.

Facilitated by Real IRM specialist trainer Adriaan Vorster, previous CIO of the University of Johannesburg, the group stepped through the Higher Education Capability Map created by two Spanish universities.

Well attended by teams from local members organisations, University of Johannesburg and University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a representative from Higher Education Information Technology South Africa, the discussions were lively and productive.

The suggested changes were submitted to The Open Group as part of a South African regional contribution to the review.

This workshop serves as a basis for further collaboration within the Higher Education sector as The Open Group Africa facilitates the building of architecture reference models that have regional relevance.
