Real IRM

Leading Enterprise Architecture Value™

Real IRM's Chief Executive, Stuart Macgregor, is in London this week speaking at IRM UK’s Enterprise Architecture Conference (EAC) Europe 2010. He is presenting “The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF®): A Comprehensive Overview” as a pre-conference seminar on Wednesday, 16 June and then “Delivering Value from EA, from the Board Room to the Rock Face” as part of the main conference agenda on Friday, 18 June.

Stuart Macgregor, CEO of Real IRM, has recently returned from London where he participated in the COBIT 5 development workshop. He worked as part of a team of three on the deliverables for "Define IT Strategy" and "Manage Enterprise Architecture”.

The Open Group’s Exploration, Mining, Metals and Minerals vertical (EMMMv) forum has created the first reference model specific to the exploration and mining industry.

The Exploration and Mining Business Reference Model was built through the global collaboration of EMMMv member organisations which operate within this sector. The model is earmarked to be released to the public (as a first active version) early in July 2010.

Stuart Macgregor, CEO of Real IRM, is speaking at The Open Group's Conference in Boston on 19 July 2010. His presentation, "TOGAF® 9 and COBIT - EA Governance Made Practical" highlights the important role Governance plays in entrenching Enterprise Architecture into a business. It also includes an overview of the mapping between COBIT and TOGAF® with specific focus on the control points required to sustain a business-appropriate EA Practice.

Individual certifications for TOGAF® 9, The Open Group’s standard method for enterprise architecture (EA), have surpassed 2000 since the latest version was released in 2009.

The growing adoption of TOGAF® 9 and demand for its certification programme are indicative of the global acceptance of trusted, international standards. The TOGAF® 9 certification programmes enable organisations to standardise on an open method for EA and to avoid vendor lock-in to proprietary methods.

Real IRM, in association with IRM UK, has made London a regular spot for our TOGAF® 9 training courses. Another successful TOGAF® 9 course was presented in May to a full class. All delegates passed their exams and have been awarded their TOGAF® 9 certifications. Real IRM will be back in London from 6-10 September and again from 6-10 December to present TOGAF® 9 training.

Real IRM and European partner, DevoTeam Denmark are presenting TOGAF® 9 training in a number of European destinations over the next few weeks. The training team presented TOGAF® 9 training in Scandinavia in May and will be travelling to the Netherlands later this month and then on to Denmark in June.

Real IRM is launching the first ArchiMate 1.0 training course in South Africa in July. ArchiMate is The Open Group's new open and independent modelling language for enterprise architecture. It offers a common language for describing the construction and operation of business processes, organizational structures, information flows, IT systems, and technical infrastructure.
