Detailed Course Description

Introduction

Understanding the data structures within an organisation is key to successful data management. This understanding is reached by modelling the various data structures using the industry standard notations. Data structures have expanded over the years from relational operational databases to dimensional analytical cubes. This course addresses both these areas.

Course Description

The course runs over two-and-a-half days and includes a number of exercises that will help to consolidate the learning in a practical way. The delegate will gain a good understanding of data modelling as well as the ability to apply it.

This course is aimed at professionals who are moving into the data management field or who are required to capture and understand data models as part of their work.

This is a foundational course with no prerequisites

The course will be presented using a combination of lectures and case study discussions.

Courses are available on the public training schedule or on request for groups of five or more candidates. Inhouse groups may request EA modelling toolset-specific courses.

The TOGAF 9 People Certification program has been designed to accommodate maintenance updates (such as TOGAF 9.1) to the TOGAF 9 specification. What’s New in TOGAF 9.1?

SA TOGAF Adoption Ranked Fifth in the World

South Africa is ranked fifth in the world when it comes to TOGAF 9 certification numbers. According to The Open Group, at the beginning of June there were already 7,200 individuals certified from more than 50 countries worldwide. Following on the heels of the UK, Netherlands, USA and Australia, South Africa has 5.5% of all these certified individuals.
