TOGAF 9 launched at Enterprise Architecture Forum
140 enterprise architecture practitioners got together at the monthly Enterprise Architecture Forum to celebrate the launch of TOGAF 9 at Summer Place in Sandton.
Johannesburg and Pretoria attendees flocked to Summer Place for the February Enterprise Architecture Forum, which doubled up as the launch of TOGAF 9, the next generation of the world's leading framework for designing and delivering enterprise architecture.
The crowd of well over 100 listened intently as a panel comprising local Open Group representative Real IRM and users from Eskom and Sasol, among others, described new features and functionality to be found in TOGAF 9, a truly evolutionary release of the industry-standard framework.
"There has seldom been such excitement in local and international enterprise architecture circles," says Sarina Viljoen, The Open Group manager at Real IRM. "TOGAF 9 advances the cause and creation of enterprise architecture as no other release has done."
South African companies such as Real IRM, Telkom, Eskom and Sasol contributed extensively to version 9 and these companies were recognized for their contributions at the event.
Real IRM delivered the first TOGAF 9 training session at the end of February and four RealIRM’ers including Paul van der Merwe (training and consulting manager) are now certified TOGAF 9 practitioners.
