Bootcamp Course for Enterprise Architecture Entrants
Real IRM, a leading enterprise architecture (EA) specialist, is launching the new EA Bootcamp training course in Johannesburg, in October.
The EA Bootcamp course offers a solid foundation to individuals beginning their careers in the field of enterprise architecture. This four-day course focuses on basic EA concepts with the aim of equipping delegates with the knowledge needed to start participating in EA initiatives.
According to Louw Labuschagne, Training Manager at Real IRM, “As an entrant, it is not easy to know which EA courses to choose - existing EA courses focus on a single aspect of EA and assume that delegates have some experience in the field. We created the EA Bootcamp specifically with the beginner in mind and focus on addressing a span of EA concepts and theories.”
“An important part of starting out as an enterprise architect is knowing how to position EA within one’s organisation and understanding the value of following an architectural approach,” says Louw.
The EA Bootcamp uses industry standard frameworks, Zachman and TOGAF 9, to explain the architecture context and methodology. The ArchiMate modelling language is then introduced as an opportunity to practically apply the theory learnt on the course.
“The TOGAF 9 module is the official TOGAF 9 Foundation syllabus so that delegates can write The Open Group’s TOGAF 9 Foundation exam if they wish”. says Louw. “This provides an excellent basis for TOGAF 9 certification and other future EA training and development programmes”
